About Me…

I want your business to be promoted the best it can be, and YOU to be the performer you strive to be. Whether our relationship is my voicing a commercial to promote your product, or a series of coaching sessions to improve your on-air performance, I wish our partnership to be a life-affirming experience. Let’s make your message — and your performance — unforgettable

Who is Rob Lucas?

I’ve always been interested in sound, especially the spoken word. I’ve always had a knack for knowing when something sounds or reads “just right,” whether it be a radio commercial, TV spot, or a PA announcer vs music mix in a stadium or arena. In my earliest years working in radio I honed my craft by spending hundreds of hours in dinky, dusty radio station production rooms just messing around with sound, and learning how simply changing the emphasis on one syllable can change the entire tone of a commercial. That continued throughout my radio career, which set the stage for where I am today.

What credentials do I bring?

I’ve spent 4 decades in broadcasting and media, mostly in music radio. Some in sports. A little in news and pop culture commentary, with random TV work thrown in.

I know what it’s like to prepare for the celeb interview of a lifetime, and have it turn out so well that you feel you will never top it, but will keep trying. I can also tell you what it’s like to prepare so hard for a big moment, and have the opposite happen, turning it into a learning experience.

I’ve been fortunate enough to be responsible for gathering audio in an NFL locker room after a playoff win. I can describe what it’s like to spend an unforgettable and bizarre 30 minutes being less than fifteen feet away from Michael Jackson (Namedropping? Yes!).

As a manager I’ve dealt with having to terminate good people for bad reasons. As a performer, I know what it’s like to have to sound your best while fearing that you will be fired. Sometimes being “on the edge” is a good thing.

I’m honored to have had the remarkable feeling a performer gets when someone remembers something you said, many years after it happened, and how much it meant to them. I’m so appreciative as to how even a throw-away line can impact a listener or viewers life.

On that note…

My professional life of learning from everyone I’ve ever worked with, along with my successes and failures has prepared me to help you attain a higher level of success. I feel the same as Mel Robbins wrote in her fantastic (as in please get it and read it) book “The Let Them Theory,”:

“I am not special, or gifted, or different, or lucky; I just found the tools that worked for me and I used them.”

BUT…Truthfully, I DO believe we are all special, gifted, different, and lucky. We just need to know how to utilize those gifts. My goal is to use my gifts, experiences, and those “hundreds of hours” I spent in radio station production rooms to help me take your business message or personal performance to a higher level.

See what others say about working with me!
